How would you describe this look?
This look is a melt-favorite of mine. This was a transitional phase of a guest going for cooler tones. This beige color is a healthy transition to light cool tones for those with natural levels 5 and under. Her hair is cut in the round or in round layers to create movement away from the face.
Any advice for someone considering it?
When styling this cut, style with the weight of the hair and the way the cut was executed. Style away from the face. This color combination is great for those with neutral and olive undertones, giving a soft touch and glowing look to the skin. Think your best hair at age 6 or 7. It is an easy lifestyle cut and color. It keeps the hair in the healthy range of blonde and is easy to style everyday looks straight or curly.
The High Bun
@kerriebespokehair
Go big and glam with this creative hairstyle. Make the high bun a bit more extra as you embellish it with an accessory at one corner. The face-framing pieces add a softer touch, ideal for your dark brown locks.

How would you describe this look?
This look is for someone wanting something chic and modern. My favorite thing about it is the fact that it is still feminine with a hint of whimsical elegance.
Any advice for someone considering it?
For this style, the hair needs to be on the longer side, so if your hair is shorter, add some extensions. If the hair is finer in texture, bulk it out first by crimping the hair slightly.
Hairspray is a must as a working product. You can add your own personality with an accessory of your choice, or for a more everyday look, go accessory free.
Middle Part Side Braid that Compliments Short Hair
@gracefilipowiczhair
Q&A with style creator, Grace Filipowicz

How would you describe this look?
This is effortless waves with a boho “expanded” braid. The expanded braid is my favorite part of this look.
All you have to do differently to achieve an expanded braid is to apply a texture or thickening spray, like the Dry Texture Spray from Oribe, to a regular braid, and then slowly start to pull it apart making the braid bigger.
Any advice for someone considering it?
This look is great for long hair, but it’s even better for short hair. It’s a great way for a bob length hair to have a chic style.
I also love the versatility of this look. You can do more beach waves and wear it as a daytime look, or polish your curls a little bit more and wear it to a wedding or as a bridesmaid.
Remarkable Braids for Long Ash Brown Hair
@kate.ainslie
Q&A with style creator, Katherine Ainslie
Hairstylist @ Me Salon in San Antonio, TX
How would you describe this look?
Elegant, effortless, and bohemian! I like this up-style because this look is simple and easy to do. Also, this braided look can be worn for a special occasion or even daily!
Any advice for someone considering it?
This style is fashion forward and so effortless, and it doesn’t have to be perfect! In my opinion, the messier the better! Also, this look works well with fine and thick hair, just as long as the hair is shoulder length or longer.
First, curl your hair with a wand alternating the direction of each curl. After, dust the curls with your favorite medium hold hairspray (I prefer Oribe Superfine Hairspray). It not only holds really well but smells yummy too!
Brush your fingers through the curls as soon as they cool to give them a beachy texture. Grab as much hair as needed for your two braids, start braiding, then tie off the ends. Pull on each piece of the braid to give the braid a larger and fuller look.
Don’t be afraid if the braid starts looking messy. Like I said, the messier the better! Tie the two braids together, and continue with a single braid of your choice to complete the look.
Go back through and pull on the braids to give them the desired size you want. The more you pull on the braids, the larger the braids get!
To finish off the look, spritz a good texturizing spray on the curls to give them a sleek but messy look with a stronghold. I used a dry texturizing spray by Oribe to finish the look.
Braided Undercut
@alannawidgiz
Q&A with style creator, Alanna Widgiz
Master Stylist @ Jerome Salon in Calgary, AB
How would you describe this look?
This is a reverse french braid. It starts at the back of the head and works its way to the front hairline, which allows you to finish the look off any way you’d like.
My favorite thing about this look is that it is simple, yet different than what you would see on most women.
Any advice for someone considering it?
If you are an avid braider, this look is for you. If you are not, then I would see your hairstylist to accomplish this look.
This type of style is best for someone who is adventurous with trying something new and exciting. You will need to make sure that you have a thickening product like Materialiste from Kerastase or VIP- Volume In Powder from Kerastase to create a thick looking, full braid.
This hairstyle will look best on fuller hair types but, can be achieved with a texture iron from Sam Villa to give absolute volume to the hair.
A fun, outgoing person can rock this style no matter what.
Undone Party Curls
@hairandstylebycharlie
Q&A with style creator, Charlie Ercoli
Hairstylist @ Crystal Boutique & Beauty Bar in Lagrangeville, NY
How would you describe this look?
This is an undone party style. The hair is pulled half up so that it’s out of the face, but I always leave pieces down throughout the style around the face so that it feels more romantic and effortless. There is a bit of volume in the crown, so it isn’t too monotone and a very loose braid on the one side. My favorite thing about this style is how romantic and whimsical it makes you feel. You could wear this to attend a wedding, on a date, a party, or even to transition from day to a night out.
Any advice for someone considering it?
If someone is considering this look to either get it done at a salon or do it themselves, I would say keep in mind the thickness of their hair. The length doesn’t matter so much, so long as their hair in the front is long enough to be pinned up. But if the hair is thinner I would recommend taking pieces and rolling them to give the illusion of more intricacy in the style.
You can do this if your hair is straight, wavy, or curly. I think if you leave the hair in its natural state it makes the look more casual and the more you curl or make the texture “perfect” looking the more formal it can be.
When I did this particular look I did curl the hair, however, I like to use a texture spray to mess it up and make everything look a bit more lived in. I do think this look is extremely versatile because you don’t have to have a certain personality type or lifestyle to pull it off.
There are so many different ways to make the style unique to you that I feel it’s super fun for anyone.
In terms of product, I’d say make sure you have plenty of bobby pins and hairspray is your friend, but don’t overdo it. To finish it off I always like some shine spray. My favorite products right now for this look would be the Moroccanoil medium hold hairspray, Saints and Sinners texture spray, and the Brazilian Blowout Acai Shine & Shield spray.
Full Waves

How would you describe this look?
This look gives this dressier feel of a beach texture wave.
Any advice for someone considering it?
This style looks and feels soft, shiny, and clean, which works perfectly for an upscale event. To achieve this look, your hair must have grit and be a little dirty. Start with completely dry hair and spray a bunch of different hairsprays throughout your hair. Wait for it to dry, then brush through it until it feels like your strands are thickened a bit.
Take a 1-inch curling iron and wave the hair, alternating directions and making sure to wave the front of your hair away from your face. When curling, leave an inch of the ends out of curling iron so the client’s length to remain the same. Finish off with a medium hold hairspray wait for it to dry about five minutes. Tilt your head back and very lightly comb your fingers through as you shake the hair to break up the waves.
Modern-Day Beehive
@blowoutco
Q&A with style creator, Shannon Hubalik
Stylist @ The Blowout Co. Belle Meade in Nashville, TN
How would you describe this look?
This is a modern-day beehive. Keep the height that we saw in the 60s, but elevate it this year!
What I love most about this look is the fact that it can be worn by anyone and anywhere. Women of all ages can dress this lookup for a chic and sophisticated occasion, or dress it down for a casual dinner date with the girls!
Any advice for someone considering it?
The one thing to take into consideration with this look is the height! Teasing to create a solid foundation is crucial for sustainability.
My favorite products to use for this look are the strong hold hairspray by Davines and Shimmer.Shine by Kevin Murphy. This look is an easy way to switch up your weekly routine.
Braided & Chic
@trishaobeauty
Q&A with style creator, Trisha Ostrander
Colorist / Stylist @ Salon Shahin in Stamford, CT
How would you describe this look?
This chic braided look is great for parties, casual weddings, and fun events. The best thing about this look is how the loose waves intertwine with the braids to creates a soft look that is very wearable.
Any advice for someone considering it?
This style works best on medium textured hair.
For best results, have the client come with clean, dry hair. Prep the hair with thermal protectant spray, then wrap sections with a 3/4-inch iron to create the waves. Braid the hair one side at a time in a Dutch braid that you open up gently and then tie the ends. Finish with the light hairspray.
Cascading Twists
@ap_designz
Q&A with style creator, Apoorva Rao
Freelance Hair and Makeup Artist @ Amy Klewitz Beauty in New York, NY
How would you describe this look?
I would describe this look as boho chic. The cascading twists on either side add to the modern boho style that is trending right now and are my favorite part of the hairstyle.
My client didn’t want a flat look in her front to crown section, so I added twists on either side enhance the volume on the top and sides.
Any advice for someone considering it?
For this hairstyle, you will need a 1-inch curling iron, a sectioning comb, three clips for sectioning, bobby pins, a clear elastic, a strong hold hairspray, and a shine spray.
The best way to achieve this look would be to make sure you tease a little at the crown before curling the whole head, and also spray the tease with a strong hold hairspray. The tease in the hair is essential to creating volume and also serves as an anchor for the bobby pins and twists to stay in place.
I prefer teasing the hair before curling because it keeps the curls in shape. I used a 1-inch curling iron from Hot Tools and feel most of my curly hairstyles can be achieved with a 1-inch iron. It doesn’t matter what brand the curling iron is as long as it works!
My client had naturally straight hair, so there was no need for me to go in with a blow dryer to straighten out the texture and flyaways. I would normally blow dry the hair straight on a naturally curly client before curling.
Pick up two strands of hair from one side and begin twisting and pulling until you have the desired design in the twist. Repeat on the other side and bring the twists together at the back with an elastic to secure. Now simply pull out the twists to make them bigger and bobby pin the remaining strands around elastic. It’s quite simple! Remember to always check how the front is looking while doing this because you don’t want to create these twists so tight that your hair looks flat.
This hairstyle is perfect for any age group or event and gives an edgy yet modern and bubbly appearance to any face. Accessories such as flowers and clips can be added to enhance the look.

This beautiful model has long, alluring locks that have been subtly balayaged for a low maintenance color. I love the lived-in look of the balayage along with these flirtatious, shiny curls.

I prepped her hair with L’Oréal Professional’s Hollywood Waves product, Sweetheart Curls, along with Shu Uemura Sheer Lacquer Microfine Finishing Spray. Curl the hair in a classic set then comb through with fingers and define ends using LOréal Hollywood Waves product, Waves Fatale.
Finish the look with Shu Uemura Microfine Finishing Spray. The balayage was done with small pieces throughout using L’Oréal Freehand Techniques 6.

This bombshell look is for any hair type or face shape looking to turn heads!

Q&A with style creator, Phoebe Georgia Stronach
Hair Stylist @ Phoebe Georgia Makeup in North West, UK
How would you describe this look?
This look is the perfect fusion between the modern red carpet trend of slicked back hair and classic, vintage hollywood waves. I absolutely love the powerful, sexy, and sleek silhouette that this style creates.
Any advice for someone considering it?
This hairstyle is the perfect party hair. It oozes confidence, yet the wave at the back makes it so much more wearable than the modern, straight slick back hair. I would say it works best on long hair if you want the uniform waves, however it could work well on medium shoulder length hair with a more tousled wave.
The key products you’ll need to achieve this look are a hairdryer, one inch curler, a mixed bristle brush, Color Wow’s Pop and Lock, a shine spray, hair gel, and a couple of bobby pins. Some top tips for achieving this style would be to blow dry your hair back without a parting (if you don’t have time the slick back nature of this style means it also works really well on 1 or 2 day old hair – perfect if you’re going straight out from the office and dont have much time to style your hair).
Curl all your hair in the same direction to get that Hollywood wave, and don’t be scared to really brush it out. Comb all your hair back, spraying it with a shine spray – I love VO5 Tame and Shine because it gives a small amount of hold too. Add a liberal amount of Color Wow’s Pop and Lock to tame any flyaways and give a real high shine.
If you need extra security or want a more dramatic look, you could run hair gel through your roots, and if you’re planning on dancing, use a couple of bobby pins to secure the sides behind your ears. Finish off with a spritz of hairspray – my favorite for a high shine finish is Morrocan Oil Luminous Hairspray.
