How would you describe this look?

These are small feed-ins with a curly top. I love this short hairstyle with box braids because this style is versatile: business look, going out, or even daily wear. It has a classy, elegant, graceful look because of the soft curls at the top.

Any advice for someone considering it?

I do believe anyone would be able to wear this style. It’s a get-up-and-go style with little maintenance. I inform my clients to make sure the scalp have proper moisture, so it won’t get dry and irritating. Products recommended are light oils (example: wild growth oil, unrefined: coconut oil or avocado oil, whatever light oil to your liking but not hair grease).

Any hair type can do this look – long or short hair. You can even use added hair as a protective style. If you have short hair like the model, all you have to do is buy the braided hair and the curly or wavy hair then install.

Any advice for someone considering it?

Oil your scalp every 2 to 3 days during the first 2 weeks of getting the braids. Getting your hair braided exposes your scalp and can cause it to become dry and itchy. Oiling the scalp can help relieve the scalp of the dryness and itchiness.

Always wear a headscarf or bonnet when going to sleep with this hairstyle. It will help the hairstyle remain neat for a longer period of time.
