Slightly Angled
@katethegreathair

For Fine Hair
@madi.mdsalon
Fine hair on this gorgeous blondie can be fully enjoyed, thanks to its blunt cut haircut. Hair looks thicker, with full layers giving body and shape.
Low Layers
@thecolourroom
Long hair with a blunt cut that has low soft waves is a simple yet timeless look. The blunt cut gives a nice contrast to the texture, giving both waves and cut an uplifting effect.
For Curly Hair
@dreamincolorstudio
Yes, long curly hair and blunt cuts go well together! Get a hold of the texture and volume on this one! The braids add another dimension of pattern and texture, which is such a lovely detail for this look.
For Straight Hair
@hair_by_loppas
What a straight-forward combination! If you want to keep everything in place, meaning no flyaway hair and no other layers, then this is the cut for you. Your silky, straight hair is exemplified on another level, thanks to the blunt cut.
For Thin Hair
@msfullhair
A long-length blunt cut works for thin hair, producing a fashion-forward look with a smooth texture. Lack of volume is an aesthetic that this style utilizes, going for the straight hair, straight ends, no stray hair look that contemporary women love.
All-around Layers
@timm.morrison
You’d think of this cut as massively wild and messy but come to the ends, and you’ll see a very organized tapered blunt cut style. The bangs shape the face to be exposed, giving you a refreshing look.
Mid-point Layers
@taylorstyleschicago
Long hair such as these are a bit weightier than short hair, and may, therefore, lose volume. Mid-point layers on this blunt cut long hair provide the much-needed volume and body for your hair to be alive again.

How would you describe this look?
Before cutting these curls, my client and I were visualizing a layered and voluminous shape. Using a curl by curl, dry-cutting technique, I enhanced her curl pattern by cutting on the “C” of each curl and shortened up more pieces towards the top of the crown and around her face to create a more rounded look.
I love the new bounce to my client’s hair and the way her curls were enhanced and made to be a little larger by combining curls and cutting them together to encourage them to live together more when styled both in the salon and at home.
Any advice for someone considering it?
I find the key to styling curls is applying all products to soaking wet hair to replace any water with the product, which will seal in moisture and prevent the hair shaft from opening up to look for moisture in the air, which can create frizz.
To achieve this style, I utilized all DevaCurl products. We used a combination of their Decadence Leave-In Conditioner for hydration, then added the Light Defining Gel for hold. On top of these products, I layered their Frizz-Free Volumizing Foam for an extra bounce to the curls and added frizz control.
After diffusing to dry and encourage the curls fully, the style was shaken out and re-scrunched to break up the gel cast for a soft look with lots of invisible holds. Embracing your natural texture and enhancing it is a great way to lower maintenance and still have style, while also being beneficial to the overall health of the hair by reducing the use of hot tools.
Diagonal Lines

How would you describe this look?
I created this look by doing a full heavy baby-light (micro highlights) to achieve the best blend and grow out. My favorite element about this gorgeous look is the blend! I am meticulous about blending because it produces a very natural highlighted look without the harsh lines that some highlights leave.
I incorporated a primer and leave-in conditioner for moisture by Amika. I styled her hair with my favorite Hot-tools 1-inch curling iron. I curled her hair starting mid to ends, and I left some of the ends out, so it gave it that nice beachy wave effect. I then finished the style with the Amika texture spray.
Any advice for someone considering it?
If you’re considering going as blonde as my guest, I would recommend getting into the salon every 6 to 8 weeks for a touchup. To keep your hair nice and bright blonde in between salon visits, I would recommend the purple shampoo by Amika.

How would you describe this look?
This is a trendy hairstyle that is so in right now! The short, blunt haircut that hits right at the collarbone is so flattering and cute as well as the platinum blonde balayage! My favorite thing about this is the pops of platinum, giving it dimension and the natural roots. It’s not touched with any color, giving seamless, low maintenance grow-out!
Any advice for someone considering it?
I think everyone could use a little balayage! It doesn’t have to be this blonde, but some brightness around the face and pops of lighter tones add great dimension and style to any head of hair. It often takes several sessions to get as blonde as this photo, depending on your natural hair color and previous color history. Still, it is a low maintenance hairstyle that grows out beautifully with no harsh lines of demarcation!

How would you describe this look?
I love creating edgy hairstyles like this. After consulting with my client, we agreed on lots of texture for her naturally thick/straight hair to have more flow and movement.
My approach for cutting was to maintain a strong perimeter while removing as much weight as possible. I utilized various texturizing techniques such as point cutting and slicing to create a seamless blend of interior layers. This will create a nice piece effect, no matter how she styles it at home.
If done right, a blunt effect can be super flattering on anyone, whether you have thin, medium, or thick hair.
Any advice for someone considering it?
I think this haircut is universally flattering on everyone because it sits between the chin and the chest. It’s not just like every long haircut because the piece perimeter gives it some edge. I feel that its super low maintenance and easy to style! We used a 1.25″ Hot Tools Pro curling iron, curling everything away from the face on both sides. The key to this style is to smooth out the ends as you curl and to maintain that blunt straight ends effect.
You can spruce up a style like this by using a little wax hairspray. I like Touchable by Kevin Murphy. I like to use this in small bursts either on a straight or wavy hairstyle where I want the texture to stand out.
