How would you describe this look?
This hair coloring is a medium brown with blue-violet highlights. This mom of two very active boys needs a low maintenance style, so she keeps her hair long and gets her routine trims and that’s about it. Ponytails, buns, and braids are her favorite styles, and once in a while, she curls it for special occasions. It’s nice to have those options with beautiful long hair. The thing I love most about it is that it’s so vibrant but not overwhelming.
Any advice for someone considering it?
This hair color great for someone who wants to have some fun with their hair but doesn’t want to dedicate to the maintenance and cost of a full head of a fashion color.
The vibrant highlights can also be done in any color, so it just depends on one’s preference. Anyone who is thinking about doing this type of coloring will have to remember that the highlights do require lightening before the fashion color can be added. Being that this is a fashion color, it will fade and wash out anywhere from 4-6 weeks.
This is a fun alternative to traditional highlights and would look great on anyone with any length of hair.

This denim blue color is the result of our search for a blue that is not exactly the same as the one four years ago yet is trendy and goes well with fashion. It is an extremely fashionable color.
Any advice for someone considering it?
The midnight blue hair color will fade off each time you shampoo your hair because it is not permanent. You may need to use a color shampoo or get creative by adding colors by yourself using color treatments. We would recommend it to those that enjoy creating new hair and makeup styles.

How would you describe this look?
The best thing about this look is honestly just the ease that goes along with styling. Pixie cuts seriously give me life.
I love being able to see the client’s facial features. For instance, in this picture, Lacey has the most beautiful shaped eyebrows, full lips, and the cutest freckles. Hiding behind a full head of hair just doesn’t suit her. Also, I really enjoyed this subtle charcoal blue we gave her! The charcoal contrast really gives this midnight blue hair its edge.
Any advice for someone considering it?
This is a really easy style for someone who is very active and leads a busy life. We used Redken’s Velvet Gelatine 07 before blow drying to help smooth her out. After any sort of paste or putty, even a dry texture spray would work to give the style a bit of texture!

How would you describe this look?
This look is edgy. The haircut itself is a sleek bob with clean lines, and zero graduation and the tiniest undercut to give it movement.
The color is a cobalt blue, achieved with Schwarzkopf lightener and Pravana hair color.
Any advice for someone considering it?
This style is for clients that aren&rsquot afraid to play around with a bit of color and are willing to take the proper steps to maintain this gorgeous blue.
While this is a high maintenance color, using the proper products will ensure the color lasts. I highly recommend protecting your hair color with a color shampoo such as Redken Color Magnetics and a colored post-shampoo treatment like Joico Color Butter in Blue.
This particular clients texture is a bit wavy, so we applied a heat protectant, Kerastase Nectar Thermique, and flat ironed.

How would you describe this look?
What I love about this color is that it’s a midnight blue but as soon as she steps into direct sunlight it’s bright purple with hints of blue! I love teaching my clients how to style like this because it takes less than 10 minutes and it makes them feel like they just left the salon every time they do it!
Any advice for someone considering it?
My tip for this color for clients is that they must be prepared to wash their hair in cold water once a week and be ready for the maintenance of this color. This color reminds me of someone who wants to be known and isn’t afraid to make a statement.
Shoulder Length Blue Hair

How would you describe this look?
This color was a dream color of my client. She started with a dark natural hair and her dream was to get a blue – not a Marge Simpson type of blue but more of a darker midnight blue. I thought of a dark lit sky like in the middle of the night, so I gave her a balayage keeping her natural base and neutralizing any yellow on my client’s hair. I used Pulpriot semi-permanent colors, Nightfall (Blue) and a wee bit of Noir (Black) to create my version of a midnight blue. She fell in love instantly and with such an exciting color I had to give her a Viking style braid and curls to take home. A crown fit for a queen, she never felt more like herself. My favorite thing about this look is that it’s subtle but bold enough to make a statement.

Understand that you will need to be lifted to a cool blonde prior to your blue deposit. A lot of stylists and clients tend to put the blue on top of a yellow blonde hair but fail to realize that blue and yellow make green, and green hair can be heartbreaking to someone looking for the perfect blue. Have your blonde toned out previously, so all the yellow is canceled out and neutralized so you can deposit this color.
Also, keep in mind these fashion semi-permanent colors only last about 4-6 weeks give or take. They also require high maintenance (avoiding swimming and hot tubs for the chemicals and salts in the water can alter the color). These colors are very fun and the best part is that once faded you can keep up with your favorite color, switch it up, or just enjoy the blonde canvas after the fading.
Deep Blue

How would you describe this look?
I call this midnight blue hair – This “blue-black” allows you to wear the black look without being so drab. Most women want to change up their hair from blonde to an all over dark but they also hate losing that touch of dimension. This does that for you! I love this midnight blue look because it screams – classy but edgy. Dark but not so drab.
Any advice for someone considering it?
Any client can pull midnight blue hair color off, I think. But it really stands out on those girls with that edgy style and also women who have pale skin and blue eyes! It really pops against their skin. The long bob here also adds that classy but not too spunky attitude that the color alone can create, especially if the cut was to be shorter than this. This looks can be created easily by your stylist! Go for it!
Midnight Weave

How would you describe this look?
This look is a partial weave/extensions with a middle part.
Any advice for someone considering it?
Only a small amount of her hair is left out at the top to cover the extensions. The color is on the extensions, not her real hair. I used 2 different shades of blue. I bleached the extensions 1st and then used 2 semi-permanent blues.
